What Is AtticFolk?

Hey I'm Alistair! AtticFolk is where I make music and talk about music.

For a long time, I've felt like the way we make music on computers was getting a bit too much like an office job. I want to make working in a DAW more like playing an instrument and less like working in a spreadsheet. I wanted to get back to the feeling of an instrument that actually responds to you, so I started building my own.

I call them AtticFolk Instruments and Gravity Engine is the first release.

These are the same tools I use in my videos and for my own songwriting. I designed them to cut down on the mouse clicking and menu diving so you can stay in the flow of making music and expressing yourself.

They're all about augmentation rather than automation. The idea is they help you say what you want to say musically even when your fingers don't quite have the skills.
